ACAI

The acai berry is a purple, grape-like fruit that grows on acai palm trees. Acai berries are a very good source of antioxidants, fiber and a monounsaturated Omega 9 fatty acid called oleic acid, (found in olives) that is associated with improving skin moisture levels.

Acai berries contain up to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine among which are resveratrol, delphinidin and ellagic acid, all three known for their super anti-inflammatory and health-promoting abilities. Acai is also a good source of minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, manganese, copper and iron which all work together to support skin health, energy metabolism, healthy blood pressure, and tissue regeneration.

Studies have associated acai berry consumption with lower fasting blood sugar and insulin levels in diabeticsiand reduced pain in people with osteoarthritis.
